Seattle voters will be asked to consider two education funding measures in the Feb 2022 election. These measures are education levies that continue funding to help support student success by creating a safe, equitable learning environment. The proposed BTA V Capital Levy includes funding for a three classroom, Pre-k addition to John Muir Elementary School and 23 building and field maintenance projects at 14 schools in the southeast region of SPS. Building system and repair projects include earthquake safety improvements, fire alarm replacement, new fire suppression installation, roof improvements, and playground replacements. Proposed athletics improvements include new synthetic turf at Rainier Beach High School and new grass field and learning garden at Maple Elementary School.
