During the past year SESEC experienced tremendous growth and celebration. We celebrated the start of our new executive director, Liz Huizar, who accepted the leadership reins to guide SESEC’s future. We also celebrated: two new initiatives – our Youth Grantmaking Project and Family Navigator Project; an expanded staff with our Operations Coordinator and Marketing and Communications Coordinator; the launching of our new 3-year strategic plan; the redesign of our new website; and the relocation of our offices from Columbia City to El Centro de la Raza on Beacon Hill. None of this would have been possible without your support.
Recently, we joined with Southeast Seattle Schools Fundraising Alliance (SESSFA) as its fiscal sponsor. This partnership along with our coalition meetings and cohort programs provides multiple platforms for parents and guardians, community leaders, and students to strengthen community voices for more effective advocacy, leadership opportunities, and more equitable revenue sharing and PTSA fundraising. These are exciting opportunities for you to engage in SESEC activities to work towards just and equitable schools for SE Seattle.
