The Equity and Equality in Education project by SESEC is a set of events and activities designed to engage SE Seattle in the development of policy and programming recommendations to close the achievement and opportunity gaps faced by SE Seattle students. Ultimately the project will promote SESEC’s priorities around changing school culture, parent/caregiver engagement, strengthening relationships among families and schools and developing greater community advocacy for improving policies.
Be a part of the group changing the future for students and their families in the south end! The Planning Committee will help to define, design and plan the Equity and Equality in Education Speakers Series.
The Planning Committee will meet once every month to design the Summit. The first Planning Committee meeting is TBD at the end of June or early July with the other meetings TBD by the Committee itself. If you are interested in joining the committee, please contact Mindy at [email protected].
All meetings will be held at the SESEC offices in Columbia City (3289B South Edmunds Street). Please note our office has stairs and is not ADA accessible. If stairs are a barrier to your participation or if language translation is needed, please let us know ASAP; we seek to create the most inclusive environment possible.
