The FEPP Levy Implementation and Evaluation Plan has been published. You can review it below:
After months of community engagement, the Families, Education, Preschool, and Promise (FEPP) Levy Implementation and Evaluation Plan is now moving through City Council review, and we’ve been digging into the details.
Since the Select Committee began reviewing the plan on June 10, SESEC has been paying close attention to what this means for Southeast Seattle communities. We’re encouraged by investments in areas like community schools, youth safety, restorative practices, and student supports. We’re also asking important questions about implementation: Will community-based organizations be treated as true partners? Will funding opportunities be accessible to the organizations closest to young people and families? And how will success be defined?
On July 8, Council reviewed 11 proposed amendments to the plan. We shared our support for changes that strengthen accountability, coordination, and equity, while also reminding Council that community engagement does not end when the listening sessions are over.
The next step is on July 22, and we’d love to see you join us to provide public testimony. Community voices and the experiences of organizations working most closely with students and families are essential to shaping how this levy implementation plan moves forward.
What is the Families, Education, Preschool and Promise Levy?
Accroding to the Seattle Department of Education and Early Learning: “On June 17, 2025, the Seattle City Council voted unanimously to send the $1.3 billion Families, Education, Preschool, and Promise (FEPP) Levy renewal to voters on the November ballot. Proposition 1 was overwhelmingly approved by 80% of voters. Additional information and updates about the 2026 FEPP Levy can be found on the Department of Education and Early Learning’s webpage.”
